Winter ATV Maintenance
With winter current is most places, gearing your atv up for winter and snowy weather is a must. Here are some great tips to ensure safe winter riding and winter atv maintenance.
- If you are riding your ATV on salted roads, spray down the suspension and brakes with a silicone water-dispersant before trailering an ATV to prevent corrosion caused by the road salt!
- After each ride, make sure to spray off the ATV and allow it dry in a warm area, such as a garage.
- Synthetic oil is unaffected by cold temperature and provides instant lubrication when starting the engine. Now would be a good time to switch oils.
- Keeping the fuel tank full will help prevent moisture from condensing and causing passages to become ice-clogged.
- Install a carburetor heater. A carburetor heater is an anti-icing device that preheats the air before it reaches the carburetor.
