Winter ATV Maintenance

With winter current is most places, gearing your atv up for winter and snowy weather is a must. Here are some great tips to ensure safe winter riding and winter atv maintenance.

  1. If you are riding your ATV on salted roads, spray down the suspension and brakes with a silicone water-dispersant before trailering an ATV to prevent corrosion caused by the road salt!
  2. After each ride, make sure to spray off the ATV and allow it dry in a warm area, such as a garage.
  3. Synthetic oil is unaffected by cold temperature and provides instant lubrication when starting the engine. Now would be a good time to switch oils.
  4. Keeping the fuel tank full will help prevent moisture from condensing and causing passages to become ice-clogged.
  5. Install a carburetor heater. A carburetor heater is an anti-icing device that preheats the air before it reaches the carburetor.
